Rare conjoined twins Rabeya and Rokeya await surgery decision – Daily Mail

Rabia and Rukia’s (pictured inset and main with their mother Taslima) heartbreaking story came to light when MailOnline reported on the tragic case of the Bangladeshi pair last September. And it can now be revealed that the twins could be set to undergo a complicated surgery in the coming weeks – after an agonising wait, local reports suggest. Doctors at Banghabandhu Sheik Mujib Medical University, Dhaka, will be monitoring the health of the girls before putting them under the knife. The sisters, whose lives are in danger due to the medical condition, were born fixed together at the head at a clinic in Pabna last July. Surgeons previously warned they would have to wait two years before making a final decision on going ahead with the risky procedure.
