Diamond earrings sell for over $57 million at Sotheby's – Daily Mail

The odd-coloured Artemis Pink and Apollo Blue diamonds (pictured) went for a total of $51million (£44million) when they went under the hammer at an auction by Sotheby’s in Geneva last night. Apollo is a 14.54 carat vivid blue diamond which has been cut and polished into a pear shape, while Artemis is a 16 carat fancy intense pink diamond. However the staggering price tag still fell far short of the maximum $70million (£54million) the lots were expected to fetch.
