If you have an HTC Sense 4+ phone, HTC and Playstation Mobile want to give you a free game every week through the end of February. Much like the offer for free games on Sony devices, there are no hoops to jump through, just download the Playstation Mobile for Android app, set up your Sony Entertainment Network account, then use your Sense 4+ phone to download your free games. Supported models include:
There is one sticking point — your phone must be running Android 4.1 and Sense 4+ or higher, which leaves folks on AT&T and T-Mobile out in the cold unless they've rooted and ROM'd. Feel free to express your distaste in the comments.
This week's free game is Cubixx, and HTC reminds us all to check every week for a new game. See the source link for the full details.

Just a few months after debuting its truly unlimited data plan for contract customers, T-Mobile will begin offering the same service option to Monthly 4G prepaid customers as well. Prior to this, the highest tier of the Monthly 4G service was $70 for unlimited talk, text and data — with a throttle after 5GB of usage. It seems that this level will be replaced by a plan of the same price with truly unlimited, unthrottled data. This is a great move for T-Mobile, especially as it moves more of its spectrum to the 1900MHz frequency for HSPA+, which opens up possibilities to a whole host of new unlocked devices. Monthly 4G plans are prepaid, require no credit check or contract and can be used with any unlocked GSM device that supports its frequencies.
TmoNews claims the service will go live just a few short days from now on January 9th, and we'll be sure to check back in and see if that is the case. We've got a picture of the marketing materials for the plans for you to check out after the break. There's another image and more information at the source link below as well.

If you are looking for the latest Apple gear for the holidays and want to save a bundle, then this weekend you will probably want to take a trip to WalMart. Supposedly, the retailer will have the deepest discount in town for a host of Apple products. Here’s a breakdown of the ridiculous deals WalMart might have:
These are obviously incredible deals on the hotest mobile tech in the world. We aren’t sure how WalMart is able to have deals like this, but we aren’t going to look a gift-horse in the mouth.
[Update: It looks like the Walmart deal was misreported by several other news sites, and we followed suit. The pricing has been updated now. Apparently the iPad for $399 was the 3rd-gen and not the 4th-gen.]

As residents of the U.S. Northeast grapple with the destruction wrought by Superstorm Sandy, an offer of assistance has come from an unlikely quarter: the leader of a radical Muslim group in Pakistan that Washington has branded a terrorist group.
While surprisingly some big mobile carriers in the UK, such as O2, for example, have said that they will not be selling the iPad mini, the new EE superfast 4G network, which launched today, has already said that it will be offering both the iPad mini and the fourth-gen iPad to its customers, complete with a range of data plans that will enable the user to connect to the UK?s first 4G mobile network, with speeds that are around five times faster than 3G. Orange and T-Mobile will be offering the iPad mini and fourth-gen iPad with fast HSPA+ and DC-HSDPA coverage. Just as with the likes of 3 Mobile, EE has yet to announce its data tariffs for the iPad min and fourth-generation iPad, but doubtless they will be revealing them soon. Meanwhile, O2 has said that although it will not be offering the iPad mini to its customers, it will be happy to provide those customers who buy their tablet elsewhere with a data plan.

Following the official announcement of a reverse takeover between T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS, Sprint reportedly started setting up a counter offer to buy the company and break up the deal. Reports now indicate that Sprint may have thought better of this, and is considering waiting for more information before making a decision on the deal.
Although the agreement between Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile USA's parent company) and MetroPCS for the takeover is official, it could take up to three months before MetroPCS investors will take a vote (because it is a public company) to approve it. During this time, more information on the bidding process and agreement should be released, giving Sprint a better look at the situation before putting in an offer.
In the meantime, MetroPCS' stock will be trading as a proxy for the new combined carrier, possibly affecting the final pricing of Sprint's eventual offer. Also throwing a wrench into things, if MetroPCS decides to back out of the deal with Deutsche Telekom, they must pay a $150 million "breakup fee". Surely Sprint would have to include that cost in their offer.
It's clear that Sprint sees the importance of this deal, realizing that T-Mobile and MetroPCS combining could be another strike against them getting out of third place and challenging Verizon and AT&T. Sprint vehemently opposed the AT&T / T-mobile merger from a regulatory and competition standpoint, but won't have such luck on this one given the size of MetroPCS compared to AT&T (Metro being about 1/10 the size). Their only chance to stop this takeover will have to come in the form of a very large counter offer.
This one is far from over, folks. Be sure to stick with us for our continued coverage of the merger.
